"Meditation is really an inward gesture that inclines the heart and mind (seen as one seamless whole) toward a full-spectrum awareness of the present moment just as it is, accepting whatever is happening simply because it's already happening."

I am coming across this advice everywhere these days. In Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, The Fourth Way by P.D. Ouspensky and now your blog :). In Incognito, David Eagleman (a neuroscientist), also points out that we are quite unconscious most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThis came from Coming To Our Senses by Jon Kabat-Zinn. I've heard good things about The Power of Now, I'll put it on my list of books to read!
ReplyDeleteI heard the audio CD because the library did not have the book. I almost think the CD is a better idea than the book.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll add Jon Kabat-Zim to my reading list :) Thanks.
